OARPO - Reasons & benefits to join

OARPO Mission

To bring together the common interest of reserve officer programs and reserve officer academies in the areas of standards, communications and training while raising the levels of our professions.

Reasons to Join the OARPO

Consider these items on why you should join OARPO.

  • We are the only association in Oregon that has the interest of reserve peace officers as our sole focus.
  • We are an association that believes that professionalism is a value.
  • We are a "sub-chapter" of the Oregon Peace Officers Association, the largest police association in Oregon. You must be a member of the OPOA to join OARPO.
  • Our membership is comprised of reserve and full-time peace officers.
  • Our membership represents both police officers and sheriffs deputies.
  • Our Executive board is made up of volunteers just like you.
  • We are concerned about issues involving reserve officers throughout Oregon.
  • Membership dues are affordable.
  • Executive Board meetings are held monthly. Members are welcome to attend.
  • We have committees working toward your best interest:
    Legislative Committee
    Recommend & track bills.
    Training Committee
    Coordinate, conduct, sponsor & recommend.
    Membership Committee
    Recruiting & retention.
    Benefits & Insurance Committee
    Tracking what is available.
    Certification Committee
    Develop a reserve certification program.
  • Regional Representatives, to ensure your concerns are represented in all parts of Oregon, and to be your contact to the OARPO. We want to know and facilitate your interests in your part of the state.
  • We are your voice.
  • We are not, a "union" type of association. Your dues help us support your efforts and support the role of the professional reserve peace officer.
